I had my Cookin' Cabaret performance last night where I sang an acoustic version of this song and it just did not make sense to choose any other song for this week.
This piece was the breakthrough for synth pop music. Beginning with the addictive melody to the fearlessness of Gaga in the production, there is beauty in the piece that is so commonly unattainable.
The genius incorporation of the literal lyrical translation to French is striking:
J'veux ton amour, et je veux ta revanche
As well as the empowering nature of Gaga's frequent declaration of freedom in:
I'm a free b**** baby!
There is sorrow and somberness, but also empowerment and cheer; similar to the duality of the title in itself.
With these points, I conclude.
