You and I walk a fragile line.
Haunted by Taylor Swift
I am a Swiftie. Honestly, everyone should be.
This song starts off with a slightly spooky violin — an instrument that Taylor thoroughly incorporated into her earlier albums — instrumental and orchestra. I love how she explored so many genres and sounds, AND succeeded in all of them. Especially after she won her third Grammy for Album of the Year, all of her awards in that category being for DIFFERENT GENRES. Iconic.
"Haunted" is about one wanting a relationship to last and just trying everything to avoid the tip over the edge that will cause the heartbreak, and then the fragility of the aftermath with the impact someone can have on someone else.
Something keeps me holding onto nothing
and
Come on, come on. Don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out.
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't go back, I'm haunted.
LOTS of guitar, drums, and violin present here, creating a super 2010 atmosphere.
There is something really unique about this song that makes it very intriguing.
Happy Good Friday to all those who celebrate!

If you happen to accidentally listen to the rest Speak Now in one sitting, no one would be surprised. Let me know thoughts, emotions, ideas, sparks, creations, or memories that come up while the instruments hum into your ears.
