Can you feel it now?
Taylor Swift has been a part of my life since the time I started being able to form words. Her sass, confidence, and faith in herself were truly inspiring to me. She is brave; rather, she is fearless (pun intended).
Change by Taylor Swift.
This piece is my anthem. Whenever I doubt myself, or I feel like there has been a chain of defeat or disappointment in my life and I am on the brink of giving up, nothing can encourage me or lift me up like this song (or my family -- not the point).
But I believe in whatever you do
The melody of the guitars at the start and the extended instrumental
nearing the end are empowering and enlightening.
nearing the end are empowering and enlightening.
Throughout the song, we experience a journey.
Initially,
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It's a revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
The lyrics transform into
Can you see it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down
It's a revolution, throw your hands up
'Cause we never gave in
The original song and music video are extremely nostalgic for me because I used to listen and watch them very frequently during my single-digit years. And now, Taylor's Version is heavily incorporated into my teenage years.
As always, I'll leave something for you to discover. I highly recommend really listening and taking in the lyrics.
If you click on the album cover below, you can listen or re-listen to "Change" by Taylor on YouTube. It will lead you to the original music video: simple yet impacting. Oh, and don't forget to stream Taylor's Version of "Change," linked in my last to last post. Let me know thoughts, emotions, ideas, sparks, creations, or memories that come up while the instruments hum into your ears.
Warm regards,
Nai
