Are you death or paradise?

I watched Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry over the weekend twice: once by myself and once with my family. We loved it. I loved it. There was such realness throughout and it takes the viewers through the rollercoaster of a journey that was writing and recording Billie's latest album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? The film, directed by R.J. Cutler, stars Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, exploring their genius in songwriting and experience as artists behind the scenes.

No Time To Die by Billie Eilish.

In the documentary, we get to experience some of the writing and recording process behind this song, themed for the James Bond film franchise.

Such a compelling ballad.

I showed it to a few of my friends, as one does when they love a song, and there was a consensus of the words "bro I felt like I was in a movie." Accurate.

Billie's voice is almost a whisper, which adds so much to the overall fragility of the song. The lyrics are absolutely touching, and the live orchestra and instrumentals add so much character and impact to the piece.

The bridge is slightly contrasting to the song, with a belt rather than a whisper, which is completely goosebump inducing.

Delicate, but powerful.

One particularly moving lyric was:

You were my life, but life is far away from fair.

I know. Wow.

Anyway.

I recommend watching Billie's documentary on Apple TV+! If you click on the album cover below, you can listen or re-listen to "No Time To Die" by Billie Eilish on YouTube. A few tears may be shed! Let me know thoughts, emotions, ideas, sparks, creations, or memories that come up while the instruments hum into your ears.

Warm regards,
Nai
