Good day in my mind.

Winter is nostalgia. To good days and long nights. Blankets and warm mugs. Sofas, family, and television. Good days. It seems that to many those two words have lost their meaning. What does a 'good day' mean? A day when simply nothing goes wrong? A day when everything goes wrong, but it conjures a hearty laugh? A day when nothing and everything goes right and wrong; an indifferent day? Unanswered questions. 

Good Days by SZA. 

The genre label "R&B/Soul" hits the target theme right in the head. So peaceful, reaches the soul. Full of heart. Easy. Prominent memory: towards the end there is a fantastic instrumental, the perfect background soundtrack for a scene of the trees flying by as a car journeys forward, and yet the flock of birds above seems to follow the wheels in rhythm, all witnessed through the frame of a car window. No seriously, I lived it. Magical!

I interpret the song to be about the post-relationship liminal space where there is worry if there will be good days. And when there is a good day, the worry of how fast it will dissolve.

Still wanna try, still believe in -- good days

Don't lose faith in the idea that there will be good days, despite the differing spectrums of good in each individual mind. 

Tell me I'm not my fears, my limitations

We are whole. Why should we let mere aspects of our humanity take over us at any time? Keep a balance. As challenging as it may be. 

I don't regret just pretend s--- never happened. Half of us laying waste to our youth, is in the present.
